The use of cookies
You may have noticed that, when visiting a website or using a social network, you see ads for websites that you have previously visited, or for products that you have browsed to buy. This is because there are small text files that websites send and are stored in browsers to obtain information about users. They also remember emails, passwords, languages and other types of preferences. They are the calls cookies.

According to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), there are five types of cookies: techniques, which store content; personalization, which remember the selected language or region; analysis, which follows the behavior of Internet users; advertising, which allows the management of advertising spaces; and behavioral advertising, which create a user profile.
The main function of cookies is to offer people who visit web pages a simple and complete experience. For example, as we mentioned before, these computer files can manage emails and passwords for different websites, which allows us very fast and clear navigation. As for advertising, they serve to show ads that may be relevant to us, based on the searches we have previously done. Google, for its part, has a preferences section in which the user can modify the factors that interest them, and, depending on them, certain advertisements or others will appear. In addition, they divide their cookies by categories, which are: preferences, security, processes, advertising, session state and Google Analytics.
The use of the cookies It can be a great opportunity for companies for several reasons: if they implement them on their websites, they will give the user a better experience and, therefore, a better impression of the company's image. There are several Google tools that rely on the use of cookies, such as Google Analytics either Adwords. Analytics, for its part, is a tool that is dedicated to analyzing the activity of website visitors. According to the company's policies, it uses cookies to “collect information and provide website usage statistics without personally identifying visitors to Google.” In short, to post ads and track results. As for Adwords (or Google Ads), it adds cookies to users' computers when they click on an ad, in order to control the sales and other conversions of their ads.
It is important to note that cookies can only be used by pages that have more than 100 users per month. If you want to know how to get the most out of your business, advertise, reach more people and track the visits you receive, do not hesitate to contact us.
